A.M.B.U.S.H Veteran Adventures
A.M.B.U.S.H Veteran Adventures, a Not For Profit Organisation, was co-founded by the visionary Matthew Rugman. This organisation has garnered significant support from local governments and a host of military charities and organizations. At its core, A.M.B.U.S.H provides veteran adventure training and woodland activities that blend physical challenges with a strong focus on mental well-being.
The charity takes pride in fostering camaraderie among veterans and serving personnel, offering mentoring and goal-setting activities such as mountain biking, hill walks, hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, map reading, survival techniques, and various other adventurous events. These activities not only promote physical fitness but also help build mental resilience.
A.M.B.U.S.H Veteran Adventures plays a crucial role in expediting assistance for veterans and serving personnel through partnerships with other welfare and mental health organisations like the Royal British Legion (RBL), SSAFA, and VOS, thereby enhancing the support system for those who have selflessly served our nation.
What sets A.M.B.U.S.H apart is its commitment to environmental conservation. They offer woodland training programs that encompass activities like coppicing, woodland clearing for regrowth, wildlife preservation, rural fencing, and even charcoal burning. These activities serve the dual purpose of equipping veterans with new skills while contributing to the well-being of the environment.
A.M.B.U.S.H Veteran Adventures collaborates with various entities, including Slindon National Trust, West Sussex County Council, Arundel Town Council, Arundel RBL, Veterans Outreach Support, Havant Borough Council, Havant Veterans Support Hub/Drop-in, Havant & Chichester Serving Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club, and other members of ASDIC (Association of Service Disabled & Injured Service Personnel).
