James completed his undergraduate degree in sports science in 2008 and then continued on to do a UCAPD in sports massage which fully qualified him as a level 4 sports massage practitioner in 2009. 1. Check your latest bill to see when your contract ends
If you are out of contract, do something about it today. You could be paying up to 60% more than you would if you were in contract. If your contract ends in fewer than 6 months you can start shopping around for a new deal right away.
2. Have you always been with the same supplier?
There are some new entrants you’ll have never heard of, but their rates can be very competitive. Don’t forget, electricity and gas and how it gets to you is the same whoever you choose as a supplier.
3. Use a utility broker
The market can be confusing and shopping around yourself can take ages. A good business utility broker like Utilitrack will search the wider market for the best deal based on your individual usage and circumstances. Watch out for brokers who don’t include all the charges in their quotes. Energy companies pay brokers a commission for handling their sales so question a broker who also wants to charge you a percentage of what they save you on your gas and electric bills.
4. Consider locking into a longer contract
You might pay a tiny bit more for a 2 or 3 year contract but your rates will stay the same even if market prices go up. The impact of COVID on businesses has resulted in price rises accelerating so now might be the right time to go long. 5. Are you on a day and night tariff?

Electricity generators feed their energy into a great big pot called the National Grid. By the time it reaches your business it’s all mixed up. Some green tariffs can be competitive too and some smaller suppliers sell nothing else, so it’s worth shopping around.

Stigma and discrimination mean people with leprosy hide their symptoms for as long as possible, living in fear of what will happen to them. If leprosy is not caught early, a sufferer can lose feeling in hands and feet, and also go blind.
Daily tasks become fraught with danger, hands get burned while cooking and sharp stones can injure feet. Injury cause ulcers, which can then lead to amputation. Fingers curl inwards and won’t straighten, making it impossible to care for children or hold a tool to work in the fields. Poverty means there is no money for medicine. Depression sets in, even thoughts of suicide; better to die than bring shame on your family and be forced to live as an outcast.
Leprosy is a bacterium. It is not hereditary; it cannot be caught by touch. It’s curable with a simple combination of Multidrug therapy (a mixture of three antibiotics).
Yet leprosy continues to be a devastating disease. Such is the discrimination faced by people with leprosy, that many hide their symptoms for as long as possible, living in terrible fear or what will happen to them.
The Leprosy Mission is an international development organisation based in Peterborough. In partnership with supporters, we work to restore health, hope and independence to people affected by leprosy, disability and extreme poverty across Africa and Asia.
